Azeem kicks off busy year of training

Our budding footballer Azeem Amir has been going from strength to strength with his training over the last two months.

In November, we announced we had agreed to provide funding to Azeem to cover travel costs to his football training. He is an inspirational young man determined to succeed despite being blind.

Azeem explained that the New Year has started off well. He said:”My football is going really well and I’m learning and developing every day. I’ve already attended two Emerging England Talent Camps in December and February and am hoping to train with the Royal National College for the Blind sport academy over Easter.

“My team – Merseyside Blind FC – are also currently second in the league with our final fixtures this weekend. It’s a busy schedule but an exciting one!”

AZEEM GOOD LUCK

And in amongst his football training, Azeem is still finding time to give back. In May he will run in the Great Manchester 10k to raise funds for the Manchester children’s hospital. What a guy!

Good luck to Azeem and the rest of the Merseyside Blind FC going into the final weekend of fixtures in the National Blind Football League. We’ll all be rooting for you.
