Hard Work Pays off for Abigayle at Midlands Academy of Dance & Drama

Abigayle Hames (18) from Lancashire is set to take up a place at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama this September with a little help from The Realising Dreams Foundation.

Abigayle has been passionate about performing from a young age and held lead roles in many local community productions and pantomimes. Over the years, her training ground has been local theatre groups as her family could not afford professional musical theatre classes. But she soaked up all the training she could and as soon as she was able, Abigayle found work in a bid to save money to cover course costs if she was ever lucky enough to secure a place.

This year, her hard work, determination and talent paid off when Abigayle was offered a place at The Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) on their three-year diploma in musical theatre.

However, despite all her efforts and a scholarship, it was proving difficult to meet the course costs. That’s when Abigayle approached The Realising Dreams Foundation for help.

Realising Dreams Chairman Ron Burges said: “We were all impressed with Abigyale’s application to us, particularly how hard she has worked to realise her dream.

“Talent isn’t enough these days – you need a real sense of determination and strong work ethic if you want to succeed. We see that in Abigayle and wish her every success in her course.”

Abigayle added: “I’ve worked extremely hard to get into stage school and The Realising Dreams Foundation has helped me reach my dream. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and generosity. I will work hard at MADD and make everyone proud.”
