Leah Looks to the Future at MADD

18-year-old Leah from Sheffield will be completing her final year at Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) on a high note, as the Realising Dreams Foundation helps to sponsor her diploma.

Leah is strong in all three areas of performing arts with a particular passion for dance. She has a variety of stage experience, often securing significant roles in productions at Ecco Dance School, such as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, Seymour Krelboyne in Little Shop of Horrors, and Wishee Washee in Aladdin, among others.

While at MADD she has also performed in musicals such as Made In Dagenham, and taken part in international dance event, Move It. The variety and frequency of her major roles illustrate her range as an actor and performer, and her ability to adapt within a professional performing environment.

As well as her talent, the trustees appreciated her determination and efforts to give back to worthwhile causes. She has just completed her Teachers Award with Distinction on top of her regular studies allowing her to work with younger age groups. It’s her dream to teach to introduce a new generation to the world of performing arts having been inspired by the volunteer work she did at a local dance school.

Now completing her final year at MADD, Leah has big dreams for the future, and is excited to begin the next stage of her life and pursue her performing arts career full throttle. With an award for funding from the Realising Dreams Foundation, Leah can finish her course as well as attend networking events organised by the college, which will give her the head-start she needs going forward to a professional career.
