Minibus helps overcome barriers to education and training

Earlier this year, we made a one off donation of £2,500 to enable the purchase of a dedicated minibus for the pupils attending The Highland School in Kisongo, Tanzania.  Getting to and from school was often a real challenge with unreliable transport and pupils having to walk long distances just to get a day’s education.

It’s great to see some photographs showing how well it is working.  While the minibus isn’t being used to take kids safely to and from school, it is being put to good use transporting local women to a nearby textile project. There they learn new skills to help them produce a variety of products like bags and clothing that are then sold locally and online.

We are delighted that our donation has made a very practical difference to the lives of these women and children, helping them access vital training and education which might otherwise be out of reach.highland-montage
