World Championships for Jodie

Jodie Logsdail (15) from Hamilton, Scotland will be taking centre stage with Team Scotland at next year’s prestigious International Cheerleading Union (ICU)Worlds and USA All Star Federation World Championships in Florida.

Jodie is part of Rockstar Cheer Dance and Gymnastics group who, following success in national competitions, now get the chance to compete against international teams in the USA.

But the costs associated with taking part in this worldwide event were almost out of Jodie’s reach despite an ambitious programme of fundraising being undertaken by her and her fellow TeamScotland squad.

When Jodie applied to the foundation, she stood out to us as exceptional not simply for her dance, gymnastics and cheer skills and the opportunity to compete at an international level. But Jodie showed she has gone above and beyond to change her life with talent, build a future career while also choosing to give back and inspire others.

Earlier this year Jodie was appointed as Junior Assistant Coach – a voluntary role that sees her work every week teaching the younger students. She’ll gain a qualification that could see her become a fully qualified coach.

Her own coaches complimented her calm teaching techniques that have already resulted in significant improvements for the young girls who she trains. She naturally supports them using her own experiences to bring out the best in the younger girls.

The Realising Dreams Foundation was delighted to offer a contribution towards the costs of competing at the Cheerleading and Dance Worlds Championship. Whatever the results, it is likely to be a lifechanging experience for Jodie and her fellow team-mates.
